John M. Powers is an Executive Director and Manager of the Western New York Complex. He has more than 33 years of experience in financial services. A highly accomplished professional, John has built an impeccable reputation for caring deeply about his employees and helping Financial Advisors maximize their growth potential.
A strong advocate of Morgan Stanley’s core values, John places great importance on creating a culture of respect and common courtesy with every decision that he makes. A very approachable manager, he takes the time to listen intently to his employees, carefully analyze their needs and devise keenly focused strategies to help them get to where they want to be.
Having been a successful Financial Advisor early in his career enables him to relate easily to the challenges faced by Financial Advisors today. “My objective is to remove obstacles that may impede their ability to perform their job, achieve their goals and help them provide world-class service to their clients.”
Powers began his career 1987 in New York with Dean Witter, a predecessor company of Morgan Stanley. He went on to work for Prudential Securities and UBS before returning to the Morgan Stanley family in 2006 in Rochester, his wife Laurie’s hometown.
A native of Bay Shore, Long Island, Powers and his wife currently reside in Honeoye Falls.
