County to review proposals for allocation of ARPA dollars

Monroe County has announced the period to receive Request for Proposals on American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding opportunities has closed, and officials now will review submissions to determine allotment of federal dollars.

The county sought proposals that would affect positive change in the high-priority areas of workforce development, economic recovery, public health, public safety, infrastructure and sustainability.

Up next:

» The Monroe County Department of Planning, in conjunction with an internal review team and voting committee, will evaluate applications and determine funding awards.

» The county then will enter into contracts with selected vendors, pending approval of the Monroe County Legislature.

» A centralized reporting system will be created and organizations will be required to submit quarterly reports to show they are in compliance with ARPA guidelines.

“For more than a year, Monroe County sought public feedback from residents and community organizations to on build on what is working now and to Bring Monroe Back for a safer, equitable and more prosperous future,” County Executive Adam Bello said in a news release. “We’re now one step closer to investing an unprecedented $144 million federal investment in Monroe County that will make a
significant impact for who live and work in Monroe County.”
