Home and commercial water restoration franchise opens in Rochester
Don Metzinger spent 30 years in the manufacturing industry, working in customer service. Now he’s ready for a new challenge.
Metzinger has brought the first 1-800 Water Damage franchise to Rochester and will operate the residential and commercial remediation business with his son, Adam.
“I’m one of those people who likes to get his hands dirty and help people,” Metzinger said.
1-800 Water Damage is a part of the Michigan-based Belfor Franchise Group and specializes in cleanup from damage caused by water, fire and smoke, and sewage backup, as well as mold and mildew.
The Metzinger franchise is headquartered on Scottsville Road in the town of Chili and will provide serivce throughout the Rochester metro area. There is no other 1-800 Water Damage franchise in Western New York.

Belfor operates 11 residential and commercial services franchise concepts, allowing a sharing of brands and expertise through cross-organizational connections. Other brands include Chem-Dry and Upholstery Cleaning, Ductz International and Blue Kangaroo Packoutz.
