Chief Operating Officer, Orolia
Years in current role:5
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Solving complex problems with position, navigation and timing technology is what we do best at Orolia. We strive to be good corporate citizens and to uphold our values: global collaboration, agility, continuous improvement, innovation and fun. While these values keep me engaged and motivated every single day, I’m fortunate to work in a high-tech entrepreneurial organization with an international presence in France, the United States, Switzerland, Spain, Canada.
What has been the biggest challenge you’ve dealt with over the past year?
Like a lot of businesses, the biggest challenge has been navigating the ongoing global supply chain shortage while trying to support the increasing demand driven by the market two years after the start of the pandemic. Orolia increased its new workforce by approximately 30% across all disciplines and levels to support. Our expansion occurred in contrast to the national and industry employee resignation trends. I believe this is a testament to Orolia’s values.
What has been your organization’s biggest success over the past year?
After Orolia completed the acquisition of the Spain-based company Seven Solutions, we entered into exclusive discussions to be acquired by Safran, (a global technology group with sales of 16.5 billion euros) which will extend Orolia’s technology portfolio and reach further into aerospace, defense and commercial critical applications. I believe this business strategy will propel Orolia into an exciting new growth phase.
What do you see as the biggest changes in the technology industry over the next year?
The adoption of technology, like artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles, new space, big data, and augmented reality, is increasing and evolving at a faster pace than anticipated. In order to support this trend, foundational technology (like power, battery, memory, processors, etc.) all have to keep up and will be constrained due to the current geopolitical climate.
What community organizations do you support as a volunteer and why?
I fully support and volunteer with Orolia’s “Resilient Together” campaign to celebrate people that overcame adverse circumstances and that make the world a stronger place. Orolia has partnered with organizations like the Nashville Sled Preds and Alamo Search and Rescue.
