LaBella Associates will soon acquire Stieglitz Snyder Architecture (SSA) of Buffalo, providing further expansion into Western New York for the Rochester-based multidiscipline design firm.
Founded in 1970, SSA’s portfolio of projects includes residential, civic, cultural, corporate, educational and commercial. The firm’s work has been recognized by the American Institute of Architects Design Awards in each of the past six years.
“The SSA team offers recognized design quality paired with relationship-driven project management,” LaBella President Jeff Roloson said in a news release. “LaBella will give them more resources to do what they do best, including additional in-house capabilities.”
The firms are teamed on several active projects, which created the opportunity to make the collaboration permanent.
“We have enjoyed the team approach LaBella brings to projects,” said Phil Snyder, SSA senior partner. “It’s easy to see how our employees will strengthen LaBella’s capabilities, and vice-versa.”
LaBella’s Buffalo office has achieved its own organic growth of 160 percent in the past five years. The deal with SSA is expected to close in the second quarter. The Stieglitz Snyder name will stay in place until the transition is complete.
The firm continues to explore growth opportunities. The acquisition of SSA is the eighth in the past five years, taking LaBella into the Capital Region, Oregon and more Mid-Atlantic locations.
“In order to provide our clients the dedicated resources their projects require, LaBella is continually making investments in talented people and the culture to retain them,” LaBella CEO Steve Metzger said. “Our firm offers an inviting environment for talented teams to grow. Once the culture is a fit, both firms are able to approach the integration with confidence and enthusiasm.”
