Rochester Market President and Commercial Sales Leader, KeyBank
Years in current role: 2.5
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Working with members of our community is at the forefront of what I enjoy the most. Being able to support events or causes through philanthropic efforts without question is the most rewarding. But I also enjoy the collaboration with my peers, especially when it comes to being able to provide sound solutions or explore ideas that can better serve our clients.
What has been the biggest challenge you’ve dealt with over the past year?
Adjusting to and being open-minded about how colleagues wish to work throughout this pandemic. Also, accommodating our clients so that we can meet with them in ways they wish to interact. I’m happy to say that we’ve found ways to do both. I am looking forward to the time when we’re all back together for regular face-to-face meetings and conferences.
What is the No. 1 tip you would give to people or companies about planning their finances amid uncertain times?
Ask questions and look for industry updates. Also, make sure that all your partners — attorney, CPA and banker — know each other. All should and do work for you so the more established this relationship is, the better positioned you’ll be to address those difficult situations. Finally, establish a relationship with and talk with your banker. We are a great resource that can provide advice and guidance during good times and challenging times.
