Years in current role: 37

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I love being able to help clients find financial solutions for a lifetime. I enjoy partnering with clients to help them realize their goals and objectives. As an immigrant, I am also grateful for the opportunity to give back by offering jobs. I am glad to have created a business that employs a group of 16 hardworking, dedicated and just great group of people.

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve dealt with over the past year?

COVID was the biggest challenge. Our priority has been how to safely continue to serve our clients and ensure their biggest financial goals and dreams stayed on track. The pandemic caused some clients to change their priorities or goals, so we’re right there with them providing advice on how to structure their finances to adapt to achieve them.

What do you see as the biggest changes in the banking and finance industry in the next 3-5 years?

How advisors adapt to meet clients’ evolving expectations, how to maintain good relationships across generations of clients, maintaining a diverse, high-performing staff.

What is the No. 1 tip you would give to people or companies about planning their finances amid uncertain times?

Be sure to keep a good level of cash reserves. At least three to six months’ worth of expenses, more if there is a pending change that could threaten your cash flow.

What community organizations do you support as a volunteer and why?

My field of interest is arts in education. I choose the organizations I support based on their impact on youth through the arts as well as the strength of the leadership and the organization in fulfilling its mission.

  • Geva Theatre Center both as a former trustee and currently as an honorary trustee. Their education programs are extensive and engage several schools in the city and surrounding suburbs.
  • My radio station is locked to NPR/WXXI. I like their programming for the schools, and the inclusion of The Little and CITY News to go deeper with reaching the community.

I am currently on the board on the George Eastman Museum because of its international reach and community presence. Even with his imperfections, Mr. Eastman’s legacy of philanthropy is inspiring.
