President and CEO, Evans Bank
Years in current role: 14
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I enjoy working with a talented team on financial transactions/solutions that serve a customer’s needs and supporting businesses and individuals that strengthen the communities we serve.
What has been the biggest challenge you’ve dealt with over the past year?
Like many other businesses, running an organization in an uneven business environment and pandemic. Addressing labor challenges, and engagement as we move to new hybrid operating models. Keeping people healthy, safe and supported while trying to address external forces.
What do you see as the biggest changes in the banking and finance industry in the next 3-5 years?
New competition and disruption from financial technology companies in providing digital services, especially in consumer banking.
What is the No. 1 tip you would give to people or companies about planning their finances amid uncertain times?
Give yourself a cushion for unexpected business challenges or demands on cash flow.
What community organizations do you support as a volunteer and why?
While I have been involved in many organizations throughout my career, I take even more pride in the volunteerism of our associates, whose tireless efforts in the community truly exemplify what Evans Bank stands for.
