Doyle Security acquires Watertown firm

Rochester’s Doyle Security Systems Inc. has expanded its reach to Watertown with the acquisition of STAT Communications. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Doyle is the largest family-owned provider of residential and commercial security, fire and medical monitoring systems in New York state. STAT is a privately held company founded in Watertown in the 1950s. The firm’s 3,800 security accounts and 1,200 medical monitoring accounts now will be monitored by Doyle Security’s emergency response center, while service and installation work will continue to be provided by STAT team members who will be joining the Doyle team.

Doyle also will retain STAT Communications’ Watertown office and 22 staffers, including company CEO Bruce Morgia and Vice President Travis Morgia. The office is the ninth for Doyle.

“STAT Communications is a highly successful family business managed by the Morgia and Dawley families for more than 50 years,” said Doyle Security President and CEO John Doyle Jr. “We are very fortunate to have Bruce Morgia and his team joining forces with us. Together we will be able to provide even better security to more homes and businesses in Central and Northern New York and beyond.”

Last year, Doyle Security acquired Austin Security in Olean and Hart Alarm in Albany. Owned and operated since 1919, Doyle Security services more than 40,000 residential and commercial customers statewide and in Pennsylvania.
