Alex Castrocastro-alex

President and CEO, PathStone Corporation

Years in current role: 1

What do you enjoy most about your role?

The opportunity to work with an incredible group of talented individuals.

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve dealt with over the past year?

Continuing to meet our mission with increasing challenges of available workforce and resources during the pandemic.

What do you see as the biggest changes in the real estate and construction industries in the next 3-5 years?

Meeting our double bottom line as a nonprofit of mission and fiscal responsibility. We function in a for-profit environment and this can be quite challenging especially when trying to sustain or create affordable housing.

What community organizations do you support as a volunteer and why?

I support the United Way of Greater Rochester because of their immense support and partnership in responding to community needs. I also support CGR because of their global perspective and expertise in strategic data analysis, management guidance, and implementation support. Lastly, I support Bivona Child Advocacy Center because they provide valuable services and advocacy to a very vulnerable population: children. And children are our future.

What are you most looking forward to doing as COVID restrictions ease?

Taking this as a learning opportunity by turning reactionary measures into something proactive for future planning. This includes items such as remote workforce, disaster recovery, and IT infrastructure.
