The Climate Solutions Accelerator of the Genesee-Finger Lakes Region is looking for community input to help determine a regional climate action plan.

The Climate Solutions Accelerator will help create a response to requirements of the New York state Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA). The 2019 law calls for a 40 percent reduction in economy-wide greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.

The accelerator has released a survey to gauge how the public believes this initiative can be achieved.

The survey is available until May 12 and is the first public engagement element of the regional collective impact initiative, a framework designed to address complex problems such as climate change.

“The right climate solutions will help us address many other community issues — housing quality and affordability, health disparities, economic development, access to jobs and services, access to healthy food, and more,” Abigail McHugh-Grifa, executive director of the Climate Solutions Accelerator, said in a news release.

“This public input survey is a critical piece of the work to ensure that our regional approach to addressing climate change successfully advances a livable climate and community for all local residents,” she said.

Information on the impact of climate change can be found on the accelerator’s website.
