What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in your career?
Don’t be afraid. Take big chances. If you’ve never failed, your chances haven’t been big enough. Nothing is permanent.
What are your hopes for the Rochester community this year?
I hope that we get more than 80% of our community vaccinated for COVID-19 so that we can open up our community and live the lives that were do disrupted in March 2020. I also hope that we recognize that the pandemic has provided us a truth serum that laid bare the harsh reality that we are a tale of two very different communities which are deeply divided based on race. And finally, I hope that we take action on those truths and commit to resolve the issues of that are manifested by these huge disparities in our community.
What do you do to unplug in your free time?
I like a good power nap, yummy yoga and a great series to binge watch.
