Alyssa Tallo has been named executive director for Monroe Community Hospital and Desmond Jackson was appointed deputy executive director by Monroe County Executive Adam Bello.

Tallo has been acting executive director since May and was the deputy director in 2019. She joined the hospital from Shore Winds Nursing Home.

“Alyssa’s enthusiasm for Monroe Community Hospital and its important role in our community is second to none,” Bello said in a news release. “She is a natural leader for the institution and has an ambitious vision for its future.

“Alyssa has already hit the ground running to improve care and services for MCH residents. She proved her abilities while serving as acting executive director during the height of the pandemic as she fostered important relationships with staff, residents and families in order to keep everyone safe.”

Jackson joins the hospital executive staff from Clifton Springs Nursing Home, where he was an assistant administrator.

Monroe Community Hospital is a fully certified residential health care facility, providing long-term care for individuals with complex health conditions requiring higher levels of medical and nursing care. The facility provides long-term care and rehabilitation for residents of all ages, from 8-week-old infants to centenarians. Nearly three-quarters of MCH residents use wheelchairs, and the majority have complex medical and psychological needs requiring extensive medical and nursing care.
