Elevate Rochester is the new name for what had been known as the Rochester Area Business Ethics Foundation (RABEF) since the organization’s founding in 2003.
The new name and logo represent both a statement of the organization’s mission and a re-dedication to its signature program, the annual ETHIE Awards, according to a news release.
“Elevate Rochester is both a name and a rallying cry for our community,” board chair Robert Whipple said in the release.
“Our relevance in the business world is greater than ever, and we look forward to people using this name with pride and getting to know more about the impact of ethical behavior on the way organizations perform,” he said.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic the ETHIE Awards process is on hold and is expected to resume next year. Elevate Rochester also is changing the way it recognizes organizations that meet the standards of a highly ethical culture.
The organization’s annual ETHIE Award celebration recognizes organizations that meet the standards in each of these four areas of ethical behaviors:
In addition, Elevate Rochester may highlight a company for stand-out performance in one or more of the categories.
Previously, the annual ETHIE Award process produced a list of finalists and a single recipient for each of the large, medium, and small business categories.
