The baseball season has been paused but the Rochester Red Wings have still found a way to turn a double play.
The Wings will sell LiDestri’s Recipe 21 hand sanitizer through their online store in a one-gallon bulk container ($31) and 375 milliliter bottles for $5. The team also has produced a “Hope Has Wings” T-shirt to help benefit the United Way of Greater Rochester and the Rochester Area Community Foundation Community Crisis Fund.
Pre-ordering of the hand sanitizer is underway. Phone orders will be accepted only on April 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at (585) 454-1001, extension 3056. Curbside pickup takes place next week.
All orders must be placed in advance for the hand sanitizer. Curbside will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 30 and May in the VIP parking lot at Frontier Field.
Call (585) 454-1001, extension 3056, upon arrival and the order will be delivered to the vehicle. Customers must remain in the vehicle with all windows closed until the delivery person departs.
“I’d like to thank Joe Ferrigno (general manager, LiDestri Spirits) and Ricky Tatar (director of product management for LiDestri) for bringing this opportunity to us, our fans and our entire community,” Naomi Silver, president and CEO of the Red Wings, said in a news release. “Joe worked for the Red Wings for many years before joining his family business at LiDestri and he will always be part of our Red Wings family.”
Hope Has Wings T-shirts, produced by Rochester’s Tiny Fish Printing, will be sold for $20 through the online team store. A portion of the proceeds will go to the United Way. T-shirts can be shipped, or picked up during the curbside hours on April 30 and May 1.
Red Wings face masks are also being sold on the website for $10.
