MVP Health Care waiving fees associated with coronavirus

MVP Health Care will waive fees for testing and treatment associated with COVID-19 care until May 31.

The new policy by the health care insurer is retroactive to April 1. Pre-authorization will no longer be required for testing and treatment.

MVP Health Care also will offer members no-cost access to myERnow, a virtual emergency room. Members can connect by phone, tablet or computer 24 hour a day and receive condition assessment, coordination for testing and, if necessary, appropriate treatment.

All telemedicine services will be cost-free to members, including myVisitNow for other health-related needs such as behavioral health services.

MVP can also help uninsured individuals find an appropriate care plan through New York State of Health during the special enrollment window that runs through May 15.

“Now more than ever, our members must have access to services that can help them manage their health in a personal way,” Christopher Del Vecchio, president and CEO of MVP Health Care, said in a news release. “As a health insurance company, it is our duty to do everything we can to support our members, our frontline providers, and our communities as they navigate this difficult situation.”
