Humor all around at benefit

oh-watta-nightNazareth College’s department of theatre and dance is presenting Tony Award-winning “The Drowsy Chaperone” this weekend. The “musical within a comedy” won five Tonys in 2006, including Best Book and Best Original Score. The story is seen through the lens of an eccentric musical theater fan who leads the audience down a rabbit hole by way of “The Drowsy Chaperone,” a fictitious 1920s musical. It’s the night before a big wedding and things are disastrous: there’s a bumbling best man, a desperate theater producer, a not-so-bright hostess, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a Casanova chasing the bride and an intoxicated chaperone. It’s sure to be an evening of madcap delight. Shows run Friday, Nov. 15 through Sunday, Nov. 17 at Studio A48 at Nazareth. naz.edu
