poetryRochester Museum & Science Center’s Cumming Nature Center is hosting an outdoor poetry reading and wine tasting.

Living Roots winery is leading the tasting at Poetry in the Pines. This is a great opportunity for poetry lovers, people struggling to find ample time to read or those looking to participate in an enlightening literary discussion.

Guests are invited to bring a poem, song or essay excerpt written by someone else to read aloud with the group followed by discussion. The themes of the event are nature, agriculture, conservation and eco-consciousness. 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10.

On Sunday, Aug. 11, the Cumming Nature Center is shifting gears for Shakespeare in the Pines. Touring production company, Shake on the Lake, will be performing “As You Like It.”

Join Rosalind, one of Shakespeare’s savviest and strongest heroines as she flees to the Forest of Arden with her hysterical sidekicks to try to find her exiled father, Duke Senior. Come watch the fast and fun comedy about love, longing, nature, cross-dressing, mistaken identity, music and more. 2 p.m. rmsc.org
