Genesee Country Village & Museum boasts the most unique race course in the area, featuring winding nature trails through a picturesque living history village.
This weekend is GCV’s 5K Race Through History. Chip timing is managed by PCR Timing, so some runners can aim for a new personal record, while others are welcome to take a brisk walk through the scenic trails and paths.
The Great Meadow is playing host to a variety of races for kids to make it an event for the whole family. After the race, participants are welcome to wander the historic village and museum grounds and enjoy the day’s demonstrations and activities.

Geva Theatre Center’s live script-reading series The Hornets’ Nest continues with “The Kavanaugh Files.”
Written by Joe Salvatore and Keith Huff, “The Kavanaugh Files” is a verbatim performance of key moments of testimony from Christine Blasey Ford and U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Ford came forward with allegations in September 2018 that Kavanaugh had sexually assaulted her when they were teenagers. The allegations prompted a second set of hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Following the hearings, Kavanaugh was confirmed by the full Senate, 50-48, as an associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.
“The Kavanaugh Files” features actors who perform the original words, gestures and disfluencies of the real-life participants. In most cases, the genders have been reversed, so women are performing the roles of men and vice versa.
Following the reading, the audience will be invited to participate in a discussion. 7 p.m. on May 20. gevatheatre.org
