A Rochester holding company plans to consolidate its holdings here and double its staff in the next five years.

CBC Manufacturing, a holding company that owns and operates various manufacturing businesses that support solar, optics, aerospace and medical services industries, will build out its Vanguard Parkway facility XLI Manufacturing, to accommodate its other regional assets. In addition to XLI, CBC owns Gold Products Wire EDM in Spencerport and Solar Raceway on Cairn Street in the city.

The move is expected to retain 42 jobs and create up to 44 jobs, officials said.

“CBC Manufacturing’s decision to consolidate and expand operations in Monroe County reflects the success of our strategic support for growing and revitalizing the upstate economy, especially by adding jobs and opportunity,” Empire State Development President, CEO and Commissioner Howard Zemsky said in a statement Wednesday.

CBC will receive $300,000 through ESD’s Excelsior Jobs Tax Credit program in exchange for job creation promises. The total project cost for the renovation work and expansion is expected to total $4.45 million. Monroe County and Greater Rochester Enterprise Inc. also assisted with the project.

“CBC is pleased to partner with Empire State Development, Monroe County and the city of Rochester in order to facilitate the growth of our subsidiaries,” CBC President Chad Carta said. “We continue to work closely with our community partners in a long-term effort to drive manufacturing growth.”

XLI Manufacturing has provided contract manufacturing services for leading equipment manufacturers for more than three decades. Gold Products specializes in wire electrical discharge machining for a range of industries, while Solar Raceway offers wire management systems designed to meet the need of commercial, residential or utility solar installation.

“Every job is critically important to our local workforce and economy,” said Sen. Joe Robach, R-Greece. “CBC Manufacturing’s decision to consolidate and grow operations in the city of Rochester is great news for the residents of Monroe County and will create and retain over 80 jobs. I look forward to working with CBC Manufacturing and appreciate their commitment to Rochester.”
