If you’ve been to a hockey game in the past 20 years, or listened to the soundtrack of a Mighty Ducks movie, you’ve no doubt heard the Gear Daddies singing “I want to drive the Zamboni.”
Well, now you can go one better than the writer of the song, Martin Zellar. You can actually drive a Zamboni.
Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex is offering the Zamboni Experience, a four-hour crash course (well, they hope not) in all things Zamboni, from the history of the ice-resurfacing machine, to how the contraption works and then finally to driving one.
Persons 18 and over with a valid U.S.-issued driver license can register. Cost is $100.
For more information, or to register, visit the rink’s website.
