RocIDEA Connection workshop to focus on intersectional feminism

RocCity Coalition is hosting its next RocIDEA Connection event—a workshop on intersectional feminism—on Thursday, Jan. 10, in conjunction with Rochester Young Professionals.

The event will include a presentation, Q&A and small group discussions on the concepts of identity, intersectionality and feminism through a historical, political and social lense.

The workshop will be facilitated by Mercedes Phelan, lead organizer of the Rochester chapter of Citizen Action of New York, and Calvin Eaton, founder of 540WMain Communiversity. The event is open to adults of all ages and gender expressions. Register at rocideafeminism.app.rsvpify.com/.

The workshop will be held at Carlson MetroCenter YMCA, 444 E. Main St., in the George Williams Room. Networking starts at 6 p.m. with the workshop running from 6:30-8. Assistance with child care during the event is available; email kayleigh.stampfler@gmail.com.
