Clark Patterson Lee has acquired Morris Associates, the largest municipal engineering firm in Poughkeepsie.
CPL is an architecture, engineering and planning firm based in Rochester. The addition of the Morris Associates’ offices in Poughkeepsie and Hudson gives CPL 15 locations and a workforce of 390 across New York, the Carolinas and Georgia.
Morris principals Raymond Jurkowski and Peter Setaro, along with the company’s team of 33 design professionals, will officially join CPL on Sept. 4.
CPL and Morris both provide municipal, infrastructure and site design. Morris’ clients will benefit from deepened bench strength and expanded design expertise in transportation, engineering, architecture, civil/municipal engineering, landscape architecture and survey services, CPL says.
“Not only do our two firms complement each other in terms of practice disciplines, but there are also amazing synergies in company culture and values—with a focus on work-life balance, client success and community involvement,” Todd Liebert, CEO at CPL, said in a news release.
Morris Associates’ notable regional work includes several municipal projects. CPL anticipates staffing growth of around 15 percent in the Poughkeepsie office over the next 18 months.
“We look forward to continuing, and in many cases enhancing, our work and involvement in the Poughkeepsie and Hudson communities, while also bringing additional resources to our clients throughout the Hudson Valley,” Setaro said in a news release.
The acquisition is the second in nine months for CPL. The company purchased Greensboro, N.C., firm Moser Mayer Phoenix in October.
