InSite, SWBR receive Honor Awards
InSite, SWBR receive Honor Awards
InSite and SWBR received Honor Awards at the recent Rochester Chapter of the American Institute of Architects 2018 Design Awards.
InSite was recognized for the LittleHOUSE project, which impressed judges for its simple design, technicality and successful adaptation of basic typology of a timber cabin in the middle of the woods.
SWBR was honored for the Evergreen Health project in Buffalo. The complexities of design were solved with a plan that honors the existing historical building and allows an abundance of natural light to enter, judges said.
Five firms received Merit Awards:
- Bergmann, for its corporate headquarters in Tower280;
- CJS Architects, for the addition on the JCC of Greater Rochester;
- LaBella, for the Monroe Community College downtown campus;
- T.Y. Lin International and PLAN, for the Rochester Public Market expansion;
- SWBR, for Evergreen Lofts in Buffalo.
Two firms received Citation Awards: Bergmann for the East Aurora Central Fire Station and SWBR for the University of Rochester’s Genesee Hall.
