Nu-Look Collision continues its acquisition strategy

Nu-Look Collision Inc. has purchased Sam’s Autobody in Clay, Onondaga County, increasing its service area in the Syracuse region.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

“Over the last few years we had seen a need to service other areas of Central New York, not just Rochester,” Nu-Look President Todd Zigrossi said in a statement. In March, Nu-Look opened its first Syracuse location after acquiring Nick Orso’s Body Shop, a downtown fixture for more than six decades.

Nu-Look was founded in 1981 by Jeffrey DiFulvio in a small garage on Monroe Avenue near Alexander Street. The company grew steadily and opened its second location in Fairport in 1996. By 2005, Nu-Look had six locations with more than 100 employees.

In 2009 Zigrossi and others took the reins and Zigrossi was named president. The company has more than 200 employees. Nu-Look has 14 facilities in the Rochester region and services roughly 18,000 customers annually.

This year Nu-Look was named to the Inc. 5000—which lists the fastest-growing private companies in the nation—with 2016 revenues of $30 million and a 51 percent three-year growth rate.
