RIT staffers among diversity award winners

Three Rochester Institute of Technology staff members are among the first recipients of the New York State Education and Research Network’s Diversity Awards.

Nicole Mirando, Caitlin Nairn and Michelle Guerrieri-Poysa work in RIT’s information and technology services organization. The awards program is intended to encourage underrepresented women and men to advance in the information technology field by attending the NYSERNet Conference 2017 in Syracuse.

As part of the awards, Mirando, Nairn and Guerrieri-Poysa were able to attend the conference this week for free.

“Their participation in this conference will add new and rich voices to the technology discussions today and in the future,” said RIT chief information officer Jeanne Casares, in a statement.
