Kodak brand licensing to produce puzzles

Eastman Kodak Co. has paired with trendy toy maker Cra-Z-Art to produce photo puzzles.

Cra-Z-Art is a prime manufacturer of on-trend toys, art and school supply products. The brand licensing agreement will allow the firm to produce and distribute photo imagery puzzles in the U.S.

Last year the company entered the puzzle category with the acquisition of Lafayette Puzzle Factory, a leading manufacturer of artfully designed puzzles in the U.S., with offices in Indiana and Hong Kong.

“Cra-Z-Art is very excited to be partnering with Kodak to produce high quality puzzles with rich, sharp imagery, representative of the iconic brand,” company Chairman Lawrence Rosen said in a statement. “Kodak is a name that resonates with the core purchaser of puzzles and with our acquisition of Lafayette Puzzle Factory last year, we are well equipped to make this line a huge success.”

The puzzles will be manufactured in the U.S. and are expected to be available at major retailers this fall.

“This partnership with Cra-Z-Art exemplifies Kodak’s strategy to develop products that bring out the creative person in everybody,” Kodak’s director of brand licensing Joel Satin said in a statement. “It’s also a wonderful celebration of our rich history in imaging.”
