Cork49, wine bar in Victor, opens

Cork49 Wine Bar in Victor will host a grand opening on Sept. 22 from 5 to 7 p.m., officials said.

The wine bar is owned by brothers Matt and Greg Nearpass and is based at 49 West Main St.

“The village has had significant growth, both retail and residential,” said Matt Nearpass in a statement. “One thing it was missing was a true wine bar; a place for people to come together in a relaxing and inviting environment to discover new wines, participate in food pairings, or host small private parties or office events. We also plan to hold educational evenings, which will be a fun and interactive way for people to learn about the different varieties of wine. We are excited to add to the vibrancy of the village.”

Cork49 is currently open and offers craft beer, cider and a small selection of food options for customers in addition to wine.

“I’m very excited to serve as the sommelier in an establishment like Cork49,” Brian Rogers, general manager and certified sommelier of Cork49, said in a statement. “We are fortunate to live in an area renowned for its wine industry. Our goal is to provide our customers with the best of both worlds—access to not only wines from our very own backyards, but also selections from around the world.”
