A six-story Hampton Inn will celebrate its grand opening in Penfield on Sept. 12 at 6 p.m., officials said Thursday.

The Hampton by Hilton hotel officially opened on June 8.

It is based at 950 Panorama Trail South and owned by Indus Hospitality Group Inc.  The location also serves as Indus’ headquarters. Indus Hospitality Group owns over 50 hotels and restaurants in the region.

HBT Architects LLP completed the décor of the hotel which features an urban-vintage theme.

The look includes work by local artists and recognizes the Rochester and East Rochester history of science, technology, and manufacturing with the use of materials commonly found in industry including metals, hardwoods, glass and ceramic, according to officials.

“Everyone says the décor is amazing, and this is not your typical Hampton Inn,” said Lindsay Campany, general manager of the Penfield hotel, in a statement. “Our guests have thanked us for thinking outside the box and also for filling the great need for a hotel of this magnitude in this part of town. Our hotel provides a corporate business traveler with a comfortable, well-decorated room as well as a variety of shared spaces, including a bar and a meeting room.”
