Henderson Ford seeks book donations from community

Henderson Ford for the seventh year will enlist the community to help young readers.

In its annual book drive, the dealership will collect new and used books for students at Rochester City School No. 50 through Sept. 15. Ford F-150 pickups will “pick up” the books at several area locations including the Webster dealership, Steinmiller Insurance and Edge Advertising Group, among other places.

“Each year we are inspired by the community’s generosity, totaling over 10,000 books collected to date,” Henderson Ford President Randy Henderson said in a statement.

Henderson hopes to top 2016’s collection of nearly 1,200 books.

“All of us have books sitting on shelves or in boxes in our garages, basements and attics,” Henderson said. “Our annual book drive is a reminder to draw our attention to these unused resources which we can easily turn into valuable tools to stimulate learning and enjoyment.

Donated books should be appropriate for ages 5 to 14.
