Buffalo-area firm to build its first homes in Rochester area

Henrietta will soon be home to a 68-unit patio home development by developer Marrano Homes, the first time the company, based in the Buffalo suburb of West Seneca, has entered the Rochester market, officials announced Thursday

Development is slated to start in the coming weeks with plans to be completed by the end of the year. Construction of the home units will begin later this year, the company said. The development is at Glenbrooke Patio Homes on East Henrietta Road. It will feature ranch style patio home units ranging from 1,300 to 1,600 square feet, the company said.

Each home unit will have a finished floor area with two bedrooms, including a first-floor master bedroom; two baths; walk-in closet; L-shaped kitchen cabinet layout; mudroom; and two-car garages, Marrano Homes said.  The development’s landscape maintenance and roads will be maintained by a homeowner’s association.

Roughly 14 acres of the 34-acre site will remain undeveloped in a preserve, officials said.

“This is a major step forward for our organization,” said Patrick Marrano, president of Marrano Homes. “We have completed our due diligence and believe the Rochester market will be an excellent fit for us.”

Marrano Homes has built more than 15,000 homes in Buffalo and surrounding areas. The company was formed over 60 years ago.
