Prosperity Conference set for June 1

The second annual Venture Jobs Foundation’s Prosperity Conference takes place June 1 at the Holiday Inn downtown.

The purpose of the conference is to help local programs succeed to make sure economic opportunity is available throughout Rochester, officials said.

“The flow of capital in our community must be improved so that small-business owners and local entrepreneurs working in challenged neighborhoods have the funding, technical assistance and networks they need to succeed,” said Dennis DeLeo, Venture Jobs Foundation president and founder, in a statement. “Unlocking the growth potential of these engines of economic recovery throughout Rochester is the key to driving job growth and creating a more inclusive and prosperous region.”

There will be national and local experts speaking at the event.

“Rochester can’t afford to exclude anyone from economic opportunity – but it happens all too often,” DeLeo said. “We hope to change that by investing in enterprising small-business owners and entrepreneurs living and working in Rochester’s most challenged neighborhoods.”
