COMIDA OKs $3.6M townhome project in East End

A local developer received tax breaks Tuesday on a $3.6 million project to build townhomes in the center city.

The County of Monroe Industrial Development Agency approved property tax and sales tax exemptions totaling $441,000 to Charlotte Homes LLC, a subsidiary of Home Leasing LLC, for the construction of 10 two-story townhomes on a three-quarter acre parcel at the southeast corner of Pitkin and Charlotte streets.

It is phase two of the development of the Charlotte Street block. The first phase included construction of 72 rental apartment units and 14 townhomes. The project is expected to have state and regional benefits totaling $1.4 million.

Also this week, COMIDA approved $181,000 in tax exemptions to Erie Station 250 LLC, which is proposing to build an 11,292-square-feet addition onto its existing facility in Henrietta to accommodate its tenant, eHealth Technologies Inc.

The $2.2 million project is projected to create 84 jobs over the next three years. In addition to providing Erie Station, an entity of Konar Properties, with sales and mortgage tax exemptions, and property tax exemptions on the increased assessment, the board approved sales tax exemptions to eHealth on furniture, fixtures and equipment.
The project is expected to have state and regional benefits totaling $3.9 million.
