Submissions sought for 2017 Fringe Festival

The 2017 KeyBank Rochester Fringe Festival is slated to begin taking submissions from artists and art producers on April 1.

The 10-day festival, scheduled to take place in September across more than 25 venues downtown, largely is composed of artist-submitted shows.

There is no fee to apply. Registration fees, ranging $50 to $150, are charged once the acts are contracted with the venue.

Artists, arts organizations and producers of any genre, including children’s, comedy and dance, may apply at rochesterfringe.com.

The submission period begins April 1 at 9 a.m. and ends at midnight on April 30.

“We encourage all shows to submit their applications early in the process, as venues will begin booking their lineups immediately,” Fringe producer Eric Fee said.
