Gleason buys Swiss software firm

Gleason Corp. has acquired KISSsoft AG, the Rochester manufacturing firm said Thursday.

KISSsoft, based in Switzerland, develops design software for gears and power transmission systems.

A purchase price was not disclosed.

John Perrotti, Gleason president and CEO, said the acquisition provides greater value to Gleason’s customers by linking design and manufacturing expertise.

The existing KISSsoft management team and staff will remain intact, Gleason officials said. KISSsoft has roughly 40 employees.

Gleason ranked 11th  on the most recent Rochester Business Journal list of manufacturers, with 705 local workers.
