Private sector employment in N.Y. rises in Q2 2016

Private sector employers in New York State added 32,241 jobs in the second quarter of 2016, equal to 0.4 percent of the state’s total private sector employment, according to seasonally adjusted data released Wednesday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The nationwide figures were 307,000 jobs or 0.2 percent of total private sector employment.  Washington led all states in Q2 2016 net private sector job growth, with a 1.4 percent increase in total private sector employment, according to the BLS report; Wyoming occupied the bottom of the list, losing 2.7 percent of its private sector jobs over the same period.
