Former SUNY Alfred president dies

The campus community at SUNY College of Technology at Alfred is remembering its former president, William Rezak, who passed away Saturday following a battle with cancer.

Mr. Rezak served as president from 1993 until he retired in 2003. He is known for being instrumental in adding baccalaureate programs to the former technical two-year college. Other additions during his tenure included the school’s first football team in 1995 and development of plans for a multimillion dollar workforce development training center.

Students with financial need continue to benefit from the Radia Khouri Rezak Family Endowed Scholarship established in 1994, officials said.

A memorial service for Mr. Rezak is planned for Saturday in Orlando, Fla.
