MCC named a White House Healthy Campus

Monroe Community College is one of 350 colleges and universities across the country to be named a White House Healthy Campus for its efforts to enroll more students in health insurance plans established by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

As part of the designation, MCC has been selected to take part in Healthy Campus Day at the White House on Friday. MCC president Anne Kress is slated to attend the event, along with two others from MCC, and hear remarks from first lady Michelle Obama.

Through its #GETCOVERED campaign, MCC brought application counselors on campus, held four health resource fairs and used social media to build awareness of the enrollment deadline.
