Kickstarter campaign focuses on empowering women

EmpowerOurSisters.com. a T-shirt company, has started a Kickstarter campaign for a portion of all sales to be donated to women’s organizations worldwide, officials said Tuesday.

The company aims to empower women and girls globally. The goal of the Kickstarter campaign is to raise $25,000 by Jan. 14.

EmpowerOurSisters.com was founded by Rebecca Fien, a website and graphic designer in Rochester.

The hope of the campaign is that by purchasing products with empowering messages, customers will be able to positively affect the woman receiving the products, officials said.
