Klein Steel, Once Again Nut Butter celebrate new facilities

Two expansion projects that added jobs at local businesses were celebrated Thursday.

Klein Steel Service Inc. held a ribbon cutting for its 40,000-square-foot facility in Rochester. The $8 million project will further expand the company’s footprint in the state with advanced steel processing equipment, leaders there said.

It will also create 50 jobs over the next five years.

Once Again Nut Butter, an organic and natural nut butter manufacturer and nut ingredient supplier, unveiled its new 37,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Nunda, Livingston County.

The $13 million project will add 15 jobs and keep 67 employees at the site.

Company leaders there said the new plant will have increased capacity and manufacturing efficiencies to meet the growing consumer demand for nut and seed butter products.

Both projects received state incentives to help with a portion of the costs, including funding from Empire State Development Corp. Thursday’s events were attended by various federal, state and local representatives.
