The Excellus BlueCross BlueShield Resource Center in Greece, which opened in October last year for a few months to serve individuals with questions related to Medicare, expands its services beginning Wednesday.
It is expanding its offerings to also help those who are younger than 65 pick the best plan.
The center is in the Ridgecrest Commons plaza at 1946 West Ridge Road. It is a seasonal office with trained staff to help guide people to choose the best insurance plans for their needs, officials said.
The center is launching “Medicare Mondays,” which are specific days individuals can meet with dedicated Excellus BCBS representatives to learn more about plan benefits, including preventive care and vaccinations, many without copays
Clinical pharmacists also will be available to answer questions about prescription drugs and explore with individuals how they can save on medication costs through the NYS EPIC program, officials said.
“Our Medicare Mondays are a terrific new addition to the center” said Heather Smith, Medicare sales director at Excellus. “Individuals will now be able to walk into a retail store and meet face to face with a Medicare adviser before enrolling in a plan, speak to a representative about individual plans and meet with a clinical pharmacist, all in one easy, convenient location.”
The Resource Center is open Mondays through Thursdays. Walk-ins are welcome, or call (585) 225-0221 to schedule an appointment. Or visit ExcellusMedicare.com/ResourceCenter.
