Area firms honored for hiring recent college grads

Area firms were honored by being named to Fortune magazine’s 50 Best Workplaces for Recent College Graduates.

Rochester’s oldest local financial services firm, Sage Rutty & Co. Inc., ranked at No. 27. The list identified 40 percent of the firm’s new hires as recent graduates.

Perinton-based First American Equipment Finance ranked No. 41, which cited 14 percent of the firm’s new hires in the past year were recent graduates.

New York City-based KPMG, which has an office in Rochester, also was ranked, at No. 40, with new grads representing 35 percent of new hires.

Great Place to Work evaluated 600 companies that reported a high volume of job growth as well as impressive recruiting and hiring numbers for new grads.

Engineering firm ENGEO Inc. appears at No. 1, with new college graduates accounting for 61 percent of its new hires.
