Five financial executives from the business and non-profit sectors were winners Thursday at the 2016 Financial Executive of the Year Award event.
The annual event recognizes contributions to their organizations and the community during the past year. In addition, a Lifetime Achievement award and Rising Star award were presented.
The awards luncheon, co-presented by the local chapter of Financial Executives International and the Rochester Business Journal, took place at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center. Nearly 550 people attended.
Scott Mulcahy, chief financial officer at eHealth Technologies Inc., received the award in the Small For-Profit category. The other finalists were Peter Juroe, CFO, chief administrative officer and treasurer at Soleo Communications Inc., and Michael Sayers, CFO, BioMaxx Inc.
Tom Kelly, CFO of Optimax Systems Inc., received the award in Medium For-Profit category. The other finalists were Richard Finley, CFO, Buckingham Properties LLC, and Keith Robinson, vice president for finance, CFO and chief financial adviser, Diamond Packaging.
Monica Savino, CFO at the Bonadio Group, received the award in the Large For-Profit category. The other finalists were Daniel Crist, CFO, Systems Management Planning Inc. and Kevin Klotzbach, CFO, executive vice president and treasurer, Financial Institutions Inc.
Alana Sansone, director of finance and operations, Geva Theatre Center Inc., received the award in the Small Non-Profit category. The other finalists were Terry Hartmann, director of finance and operations, Children’s Institute Inc., and Brenda Krusenstjerna, director of finance, Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester.
Leanne McGuinness, senior vice president and CFO, the Summit Federal Credit Union, received the award in the Large Non-Profit category. The other finalists were Michael Messier, executive vice president and CFO, Monroe Plan for Medical Care Inc., and Teresa Anderson, vice president of financial operations, Excellus BlueCross Blue Shield.
In addition, John Zimmer, senior vice president of finance and CFO of Transcat Inc., receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. The Rising Star Award was presented to Joseph Greenthal, controller at SUNY College of Technology at Alfred.
