Rochester Institute of Technology has announced the dates of its festival the university expects to draw 30,000 people to campus.
The 2016 Imagine RIT: Innovation and Creativity Festival is set for May 7.
Festival organizers plan more than 400 examples of innovation and creativity from RIT students, faculty and staff, to be featured through interactive exhibitions, demonstrations and live performances.
The event, in its ninth year, includes President William Destler’s annual Access and Inclusion Challenge. This year, students are charged with the mission to showcase technologies that will make it easier for those with physical or cognitive challenges to shop or travel. Winners could receive $1,000 or a banjo from the prized collection of Destler.
The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with parking available on campus.
