Henrietta-based Navitar Inc. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Hyperion Development LLC for an undisclosed sum.
Both companies expect the deal to close by the end of the first quarter. When complete, the combined company will sell to more than 45 countries around the world, the firms reported.
Hyperion, based in Massachusetts, is a design firm and manufacturer of custom optical assemblies. Navitar Inc. designs, develops and manufactures precision optical and electroâ€optical products.
In a joint statement, Navitar owners Jeremy and Julian Goldstein said the company will operate out of four engineering, design and production facilities in San Ramon, Calif.; Woburn, Mass.; Denville, N.J. and Henrietta.
All personnel at each company will be maintained and current facilities will remain in place, officials said.
