Harris Corp.’s Rochester-based Communication Systems group has received a $12 million order from the Philippines armed forces.
Under the deal, Harris will supply its tactical vehicular radios, intercom systems and handheld radios, as part of a communications modernization program.
"These radios will provide soldiers in the Philippine Army with advanced command and control, and real-time situational awareness capabilities," said Brendan O’Connell, president of the group’s tactical communications segment, in a statement.
Harris employs more than 3,200 workers locally. It ranked second on the most recent Rochester Business Journal list of manufacturers and eighth on the list of public companies.
