Acclaimed glass artist creates finalists’ gifts

Each Athena finalist receives a signature art piece designed and created by glass artist Nancy Gong specifically for this award. Nancy has received worldwide acclaim for her architectural art glass designs—and is perhaps most often recognized in Rochester for her work on the ArtWalk bus shelter in front of Gleason Works, the windows at the Port of Rochester and the etched glass at RIT’s Administrative Services Building. Carved into handcast glass, the signature Athena icon honoring the extraordinary women of the Greater Rochester community is unparalleled.
