Midtown Parking Garage opens again

The Midtown Parking Garage is open to the public.

Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren announced Monday the garage is available for monthly and hourly parking. The garage will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week, with entry on Clinton Avenue between Court and East Broad streets. The exit is on Court Street.

The garage will bring needed parking to the city’s downtown area, Warren said.

"As more jobs come into downtown and the city becomes more vibrant, we’re seeing a greater demand for parking in our center city," Warren said. "The opening of the Midtown garage creates an additional 1,695 secure parking spots in our center city, and makes it easier for motorists to come downtown to live, work, go to school and play."

The underground garage at the former site of Midtown Plaza has been closed since Sept. 30, 2008, as the 8.5-acre location was redeveloped.

The fee will be $2 for the first two hours and $2 for every new hour for the next two hours up to a maximum of $10 for the day. Monthly parking will be available for $88.
