Long Island firm acquires nursing home in Orleans County

The Villages of Orleans Health and Rehabilitation Center has been acquired by Comprehensive Healthcare Management Services LLC in a $7.8 million deal that privatizes the 120-bed nursing home.

The Long Island company plans to expand services and rehabilitative programs at the Albion-based facility and add nearby senior options.

Comprehensive Healthcare worked on-site with Orleans County officials and the facility’s staff for more than eight months prior to the transfer, the company said. They also met with the resident council and resident family members.

“The acquisition of The Villages is a great beginning to the new year for us all,” said Comprehensive Healthcare managing member Mordy Lahasky in a statement.

The purchase of the facility is the first of four acquisitions Comprehensive Healthcare officials said it plans to execute in Western New York this year.
