Fisher appoints director of multicultural affairs

St. John Fisher College has appointed a director of the office of multicultural affairs and diversity programs.

Yantee Slobert was named interim director in June 2008 after being hired in 2006 to serve as assistant director.

As director, Slobert coordinates and directs the college’s initiatives that address diversity issues on campus and within the broader community. He also serves as a liaison with student clubs and organizations. The office sponsors several annual events, including the Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration, the Diversity Initiatives Awards and the Day of Celebration.

Prior to joining St. John Fisher College, Slobert was director of multicultural affairs at SUNY College at Alfred.
